Computer Science is the study of the theory, experimentation, and engineering that form the basis for the design and use of computers. It is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications and the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression, and mechanization of the methodical procedures (or algorithms) that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of, and access to information. A Computer Scientist specializes in the theory of computation and the design of computational systems.

Informatics is the science of information and computer information systems. It involves the practice of information processing, and the engineering of information systems.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application)

BCA is an undergraduate program that provides foundational knowledge and practical skills in computer applications, while MCA is a postgraduate program that offers advanced knowledge, specialization, and research opportunities in computer science. BCA serves as a stepping stone to entry-level IT jobs, while MCA enables career advancement and specialization in various areas of computer applications.

Eligibility: A candidate must have passed 10+2 examination (Arts/Science/Commerce) or equivalent with securing 45% or more (minimum pass mark for SC/ST/OBC/SBC candidates) in aggregate without any approximations.

Duration: (3 Years)

 

 

MCA

Passed BCA/ bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, or

Passed BSc/ B.Com/ BA with Mathematics at HSC-level or at graduation-level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned university) obtained at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate in SC/ST/PwD candidates) in qualifying examination

Duration:  (2 Years)

 

Ph.D

Passed BCA/ bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, or

Passed BSc/ B.Com/ BA with Mathematics at HSC-level or at graduation-level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned university) obtained at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate in SC/ST/PwD candidates) in qualifying examination
